Pens are great for all sorts of gifts. Graduations, birthdays and promotions to name a few. I use high quality pen transmissions that take Parker refills. I use domestic and exotic hardwoods. I sometimes use "Mystery Wood" which is a certain species of wood that is unidentifiable. If you have a piece of wood that has sentimental value and you would like to make a pen with it, you can send it to me walt@totallyturned.com and I'll set you up with a pen body of your choice. I apply several coats of CA glue (super glue) to all my pens, it is a very hard a durable finish for years of protection.

Sea salt and pepper mills are another nice gift item for the aspiring chef or your better half. They can be made in various lengths, shapes and a varity of woods. I use high quality stainless steel and ceramic mechanisms. A Tunge oil finish brings a high luster, except on Cocobolo. It has a naturally high oil content that brings out a high sheen when buffed and waxed
