Segmented woodturning has been around for quite a long time. It is a process of gluing numerous precision cut pieces of wood to form any shape you can imagine. This activity requires extremely precise woodworking skills, accurate planning, problem solving skills and a little inventiveness. When I design and turn pieces that are segmented I am free from the boundaries of a single piece of wood and my choices in wood, color and shape are endless. I incorporate designs using the natural color of woods from around the world. Segmented art turnings are awesome display pieces.
